Geany Portable allows you to turn any USB flash drive, external drive, or cloud folder into a fully functional, lightweight Integrated Development Environment (IDE). Because it runs without modifying the host computer’s registry, you can write, compile, and debug your code on any Windows computer—anytime, anywhere. 1. Download and Install to Your Portable Drive

To set up Geany Portable, you need to place its files directly onto your removable storage.

Step 1: Plug your USB flash drive or external SSD into your computer.

Step 2: Download the Geany Portable installer package from PortableApps.com. Step 3: Run the downloaded .paf.exe file.

Step 4: When prompted for an installation destination, browse and select your USB drive (or your synced cloud folder like Google Drive/Dropbox).

Step 5: Complete the installation. You will find a GeanyPortable folder on your drive. Double-click GeanyPortable.exe inside that folder to launch the IDE. 2. Carry Your Compilers With You

Geany is lightweight because it does not include language compilers by default. To code and compile truly anywhere without depending on the host machine’s software, you must store your compilers on the same USB drive. Third-Party Packages – Geany
