Windows Vista screensavers like Bubbles, Ribbons, Mystify, and Aurora do not have a built-in settings interface. Microsoft originally designed these screen savers with customization options, but disabled the configuration dialog boxes prior to release. You can unlock these hidden configurations manually by adding custom 32-bit DWORD values into the Windows Registry. Master Registry Location
To apply any of these customizations, press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter to open the Registry Editor. Navigate to the following subkey, where you will find (or create) the folder for each specific screensaver:

Navigate to …\Screensavers\Bubbles to tweak the floating spheres. MaterialGlass: Toggles transparency. 1 = Transparent glass bubbles 0 = Solid, metallic bubbles
ShowShadows: Controls the shadow effect beneath the bubbles. 1 = Enabled shadows 0 = Disabled shadows
ShowBubbles: Controls whether the desktop wallpaper remains visible. 1 = Bubbles float over your current desktop. 0 = Bubbles float over a solid black background.
Radius: Set a decimal value between 1100000000 (very small bubbles) and 1130000000 (massive bubbles) to alter bubble sizing. 🎗️ Ribbons Customization
Navigate to …\Screensavers\Ribbons to change the ribbon trail properties.
NumRibbons: Controls the density of lines. Set a decimal value from 1 to 100 (Default is typically 10).
RibbonWidth: Adjusts thickness. Set a decimal value from 1000000000 (ultra-thin strands) to 1080000000 (wide ribbon bands). Blur: Controls the trail effect. 1 = Fades ribbons over time.

Navigate to …\Screensavers\Mystify to modify the geometric wireframe patterns.
NumLines: Sets the total number of active geometric paths. Input a decimal value from 1 to 100.

Navigate to …\Screensavers\Aurora to tweak the colored cosmic wave effect.
Speed: Controls how fast the gas clouds shift. Input a decimal value between 500000000 (slow) and 2000000000 (fast).
Brightness: Controls cloud intensity. Input a decimal value between 500000000 and 2000000000.
Amplitude: Alters the size or height of the wave crests. Input a decimal value between 500000000 and 2000000000. 🛑 How to Revert Changes
If you wish to return a screensaver back to its factory style, navigate to its respective key (e.g., …\Screensavers\Bubbles</code>). Highlight and delete all the custom DWORD values you created.
